Look, I’m going to be 100% honest: this meme list is fully self-indulgent and if you haven’t played the games most, if not all of these memes, will not make sense to you. I don’t post lists like this often, but in celebration of AoM: Retold coming out (and being well-received by the community at that), I figured I had an excellent excuse to promote my nostalgia at you. Age of Mythology was an early-2000s real-time strategy game that plays similarly to Age of Empires, except players get to wield the powers of several culture’s ancient gods, acting as boons to their own people or banes to their opponents. It has a good story mode while also just having fun gameplay that, while there is still sophistication, doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s all about the fun. And I promise, it’s fun.
