In America, this specific week of November is full of two holidays, or three if you enjoy American football: Thanksgiving and Black Friday. While Thanksgiving may have its origins in a harvest feast shared by English pilgrims and the Wampanoag people, it’s meaning has been debated a bit. Whether you see it religiously or not, Thanksgiving has become an excuse to have a couple days off, see you family, and eat a lot of food. It’s similar in Canada, though Canadians celebrate it earlier in October, for some reason. Which works well for people with family in both countries, because it’s double the food!
